Did I really just say that??

An example of a lazy tired mom--or maybe I'm just being frugal:

Stephen (who's been eating us out of house and home lately) came and asked me if he could have a piece of bread. I told him yes and he went to help himself. After he got his bread, he came to me and said, "Mom, it's hard" and started knocking it on the table. In my defense, it didn't actually make a knocking sound, but I knew it was harder than he likes to eat.

But being the kind of mom I am, I told him, "Well....just pretend it's toasted."

I can't believe I said that.

Haha! It could have been worse. You could have said something like "that's all we had when we were kids and we were GRATEFUL!" ;)

I can't wait till I have kids. I spent two years in a place where there wasn't enough food and we had to boil the milk and water and... My kids won't be able to complain about anything. I'll drive them nuts.

That is GREAT! :)
It would only be really bad if he said his milk was chunky and you told him to pretend it was yogurt. :)
